What the hell is a straight razor?
A straight razor is an old-school, single-blade shaving tool that's been around for centuries. No fancy cartridges, no five-blade gimmicks. Just one sharp-ass blade and a steady hand.
Why use one?
Because a skilled barber can control the blade's angle, pressure, and direction to deliver a damn close shave. And with proper technique, it can be gentler on your skin than repeatedly going over the same shit spot with a multi-blade razor.
Plus, there's something pretty badass about a traditional hot towel shave. It's not just about getting rid of whiskers. It's about the experience.

I've never had a straight razor on my skin, what can I expect?
First time letting someone take a sharp-ass blade to your face? I get it. But relax, you're in good hands.
We'll start by getting you comfortable in the chair. I'll prep your skin with shave oil and hot towels to soften those stubborn whiskers, then lather you up and get to work.
All you gotta do is kick back, stay still, and let me handle the sharp stuff.
Once we're done, I'll finish things off with a cool towel and some post-shave TLC to leave your skin feeling refreshed.
A little heads-up: Everyone's skin is different. Some redness, sensitivity, or razor bumps can happen, especially if your skin isn't used to a close shave. I'll take your skin and beard type into consideration and adjust accordingly.
Bottom line? No need to be nervous. Just show up with your whiskers, and I'll take it from there.
I've never grown a beard, how does that work?
First thing put the razor down and let that shit GROW.
Seriously.
Give it a good 4–6 weeks if you can. It's gonna get awkward, probably itch, and you might question your life choices somewhere along the way. That's normal.
Once you've got some growth going, come see me.
We'll take a look at what you're working with: growth patterns, thickness, texture, and yes, even those stubborn patchy spots.
From there, we'll figure out a shape that works with your face, your lifestyle, and how much effort you're actually willing to put into maintaining it.
And don't worry, I'll teach you how to take care of the damn thing, too.
